Project Management Fundamentals This course teaches the fundamentals of project management. You will be better prepared to initiate a project in your organization and position it for success. It is also an excellent precursor to the Microsoft project courses. In this course, you will identify effective project management practices and their related processes. You will examine the elements of sound project management and apply the generally recognized practices to successfully manage projects.
Accelerated Introduction to Microsoft Project Teaches the functions and features of Microsoft Project. Students will learn how to create a new project file, create and modify task lists, create a Work Breakdown Structure with Gantt chart, and work with task relationships. They'll also learn how to create base and task calendars. Additional material includes baseline and interim plans, the critical path, project tracking, analysis of project statistics, project file formatting, custom views, and file consolidation. This class is a shortened version of Project Basic and Project Advanced. It covers much of the same material but does not go into details of resource planning and costing. It focuses on creating and tracking schedules.
Microsoft Project Training Part 1 Teaches the basic functions and features of Microsoft Project. The emphasis is on using Microsoft project to create effective project plans. Students will learn how to create a new project file, create and modify task lists, create a Work Breakdown Structure with Gantt chart, and work with task relationships. They will also learn how to create a base calendar, assign resources to tasks, create task calendars, and create and modify tables. Students will use filters and groups, and they'll sort task and resource data. Finally, they will learn how to resolve resource conflicts and analyze the critical path. When taken on a private basis, class content can be tailored to your needs. The next class in sequence is Microsoft Project Advanced.
Microsoft Project Training Part 2 Hands-on, interactive class. The focus of this class is on tracking and monitoring the project plan. Topic coverage includes baseline and interim plans, analysis of project statistics, project file formatting, custom views, and file consolidation. Students will also learn how to communicate project information and how to integrate Project with Excel, Access, and Word. Students should have taken Microsoft Project Basic or have equivalent knowledge.
